Yesterday, as I was walking through Costco, I remarked to my husband that my scar had been acting up. What do you mean, he asked. Like, there’s some achy pain, I replied. He gave me a funny look. It’s been almost a year since your excision. I know, that’s weird…
I don’t know why my scar will occasionally burst with an achy pain that lasts for a few days before disappearing. At times like that, I hunch over my leg, looking at my knee to see if there is anything weird or unusual popping out. It seems as if my stitches should have long been healed. But then I’ll get a pain that will develop deep in my scar that feels like a stitch being pulled. But then it will suddenly be gone.
Today, my leg feels normal. Or at least not harboring weird achy pain. But with another trip up to San Francisco for work, I’m hoping that my leg is up for a good amount of walking up and down hills.
