Finally a Follow Up Without a Biopsy

It’s time for my every-six-month follow-up. As you can tell by the title of this post, it was a good visit for the first time in a long time.

While I had some spots I was concerned about, I know that I’m paranoid about anything on my skin that is reddish and circular. Fortunately, most of those will be benign but since I had a spot that was a trickster, I get a little weird about them. As soon as they ask, I’m like – here, here, and here… And the one that she’s really keeping on eye on is on my back, ironically. The one place that I can’t really see easily.

But it was gratifying to have a follow-up without any little bits of my skin heading off to the lab. I told a co-worker (one of the very few that knows) that I felt like celebrating today. And I think I will. It really isn’t every doctor appointment that I get to walk out knowing there’s nothing to be concerned about for the next six months. And that makes me almost giddy right now.
